Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus (John 1:35-37).
John the Baptist was happy when people left him to follow Jesus, because his ministry focused on Jesus. “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).
When people get saved they follow Jesus, not the preacher, the people, or the program. They believe, follow, and tell others.
The word “follow” means to imitate or mimic, to submit; it speaks of Lordship. We as followers of Christ journey toward Christlikeness and walking in His steps. We desire to walk as He walked.
